Sugar Cake

Ingredients:

  • Butter 200 g (room temperature)
  • Icing sugar 200 g
  • Eggs 5
  • Flour 200 g
  • Baking Powder 10 g
  • Vanilla essence few drops
  • Nuts 150 g

For topping:

  • Icing sugar 200 g
  • Milk as required

Culinary Process:

For butter sponge: Mix butter and icing sugar and make creamy texture.

Then add eggs one bye one.

Next add all dried ingredients, mix well and add in a 8 inch mould.

Add nuts on top. Bake the cake on gas mark 5 for 15 minutes, in pre-heated oven. Check if toothpick comes out dried, cake is done. If not leave it for another 1-2 minutes. Set aside for cooling.

For topping:

Mix milk and icing sugar, and worm it up in a pan. Put on cake.

Serve when cooled down.
