Ingredients:
- 500g Aloo Bukhara (dried plums), pitted (overnight soaked)
- 4 cup water
- 1 kg Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Orange food colour
- 1/2 tsp black salt
- 1/2 black pepper powder
- 5 pcs green cardemom powder
- 1/4 tsp Dried ginger / soonth
- 100g Almonds (overnight soaked and peeled)
Culinary Process:
- In a saucepan, combine the dried plums and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the plums are soft and tender. Add food colour to give it a nice colour.
- Add sugar and mix well with small spoon so that plums do not break.
- Then add cardemom, black pepper and dried ginger(soonth) powder. let it boil for sometime.
- Now add almonds and cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes.
- Once the sauce is nice and thick turn the flame off. Sauce is ready.
- Store it in an air tight jar and keep it in the fridge.
Tip:
Do not use a new spoon every time. Keep a steel spoon inside the jar.
